Children's Business Fair participants--here are your business registration forms!

On Saturday morning July 30, 2022, we hosted a digital meeting to follow up on our first annual Dallas Children's Business Fair, from June 12, 2022. We showed Children's Business Fair participants how to register a business in Texas. We encouraged DBA ("doing business as") and LLC registrations.

The children attended a digital meeting and asked excellent questions

"If I want to start a second business, do I have to start all over again?"

Amazingly, the children had fascinating questions. They take business building seriously. And it showed by their questions and interest in registering their companies.


Which business form should a child business owner use?


It may not be necessary for a child business owner to register. But a children benefit from the experience of formally setting up and registering a business.

A lawyer is not needed to register a business

"Do I need a lawyer to register my business?"

The children were curious if a lawyer is needed to register a business. As a licensed and practicing Texas attorney, the question comes up frequently.


Fortunately, a lawyers is not required to register a business. It may be necessary to consult with an attorney and a tax professional if anyone is unsure about which type of business to form to register.
